Grandparents #AtoZChallenge

...grandparents. I was lucky enough to have my maternal grandparents live until they were 94 (my grandpa) and 92 (my grandma). I have so many wonderful memories of them both and feel so blessed that they were able to see me get married and meet their great-grandchildren. Just thinking of them brings a smile to my face. Here are some of my favorite photos of them...

  1. My dads parents moved to Arizona when I was young so I never saw them much. It is ironic though, when I was older and living on my own, I rented a space in the same exact apartment building they lived in. My mothers parents lived in Menominee Falls Wisconsin which is a 20 minute drive from Milwaukee. She owned a pizza restaurant and whenever we'd go visit, we'd get one of her pizzas.

  2. My grandfather was a gentle funny man who would color with me when I was a child. My grandmother was always either screaming at someone or throwing something at them. So, yeah, good memories!

  3. My maternal grandmother is the most amazing woman I have ever met(she also happens to be a rather young grandmother, only 70) and I lived with her during some of my roughest struggles with depression. I'm honestly not sure I'd be alive--and I'm certain I'd be worse off--if I didn't have her to turn to.

So yeah, grandparents are pretty great :)
