It's Friday and I'm Celebrating The Small Things! The brainchild of Viklit, Celebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration where some bloggers have decided to post about something worth celebrating...no matter how big or small it is.
Today I'm celebrating...
- A visit from my brother! He makes me laugh...a lot :) I got to see him and his family a couple of weeks ago when he drove from Nebraska to visit with my parents in Delaware for a week. My husband drove me and the kids to DE so we could see them for a few days, and while we were there, two of my aunts and my cousin and her kids came too. It was like a little mini family reunion.
- Being first in line at the gas station to get my emissions test done for my daughter's car. In total, I spent about 30 minutes getting that done. Not too bad! It certainly beats the two hours and forty five minutes I spent at the DMV registering and titling it! grrrrr
- My acupuncturist. My hands have been hurting a lot over the past few weeks and my last two acupuncture treatments have helped a bunch. I'm hoping that after another treatment next week, the arthritis that has been flaring will finally calm down. (This is part of the reason why I have yet to post about my facet joint shots...waiting for the hands to feel better so I don't have to do the two-finger-pecking-routine on the keyboard).
- Our new car! Our 2003 Ford Taurus finally died, so we picked up a 2015 Prius with only 7,000 miles on it...it was a pretty good deal. For those who have not been in, or drove a Prius before...they are so weird! You push a power button to turn the car on, a parking button to put it in park, and it barely makes any noise at all while it sits idle. It's very strange and different, but in a good way. Let's hope that my husband gets a good long time out of this car and doesn't kill it!
What are you celebrating?

The mini family reunion sounds fun! Congratulations on the new car!
ReplyDeleteThanks LG!
DeleteThat's a gorgeous sky!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to see family - that's always a treat. Congrats on the new car too.
As to the DMV, you have no idea how much easier that is in a small town (as opposed to some huge place like Denver). My daughter is currently registering one here...ran into a little trouble...but the visit only takes tops 15 mins. And the inspection...*Grin* let's just say that them country folk take life a bit more relaxed than them city ones ;)
I am sure it is a bit more laid back in a small town!
DeleteIt's lovely when families can get together - that's what it's all about :) I think we do things differently over here in the UK when it comes to cars passing tests - we drop them off for the day usually wait for the phone to ring to tell us which bit's failed and when the new part will come in and pick them up sometimes DAYS later!! Your new car sounds like you got a real bargain -I almost got run over by one of the new Prius the other day just because they hardly make any sound at all, do they? Have a great weekend :) Special Teaching at Pempi’s Palace
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are safe! Yeah, the Prius is really quiet. I almost forgot to actually turn it off the other day! Lol
DeleteWhat a great list of things to celebrate! The mini family reunion sounds like a lot of fun, and yay for your brother coming to visit you! I'm glad to hear the emissions test went well and at least you went to the DMV and got everything else done for your daughter. You're such a good mom! Yay for the acupuncture and the new Prius! I hope both last a long time. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope the car lasts a while too! Thanks for the visit!
DeleteA Prius huh? Efficient but not very good for racing...
ReplyDeleteWe're old, suburban parents. Ain't nobody got time for racing!
DeleteI'm glad you had a great visit with your family! And I hope your hands and feet are feeling even better. I've never driven a Prius. That does sound kind of weird. Hope it runs well and lasts a long, long time for you!
ReplyDeleteI think new car starters are weird too. What I do love is the camera feature some have so you can see what is behind you when you back up. Hope your hands feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteFeel better. And aren't family reunions the best?

Sounds like some great things to celebrate. I hurt my ankle a few weeks ago and it's only just starting to feel better. So I can celebrate that. Also had the chance to hang with one of my nephews and two of my nieces this weekend. We had a good time and I don't do the Uncle thing often enough. It was a good time for all of us.
