It's Friday and I'm Celebrating The Small Things! The brainchild of Viklit,
Celebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration where some bloggers have
decided to post about something worth celebrating...no matter how big
or small it is. I am thrilled to co-host this wonderful bloghop!
This week I'm celebrating
Sorry for my absence over the past week...if I don't go downstairs, I don't end up on my pc. Hoping to make it downstairs this weekend and do a little blog hopping!
- getting a bit more sleep! Althought the hubby is still waking up at 6am for work, I was able to get more sleep this week because...
- the kids had off Monday and had snow days Tuesday and Wednesday! So I got to spend some extra time sleeping in, and had some extra lovin from the kiddos. I've really needed both lately since being stuck in the house is really starting to mess with my brain.
- Sunny days. I struggle with depression, and the winter is tougher because we usually have less sunlight. Well, over the past week, I've had lots of sunny days...which I desperately need right now! Say a prayer that this depression doesn't get too much worse!

Extra sleep is always nice! And so is sunshine. Hope they continue to lift your spirits! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank You!
DeleteThat's nice having the kids at home...today it's actually a "cold day", so the schools are off (although my little guy is only 5 months so school's a ways off yet!)
ReplyDeleteHope you have some more sunny days ahead, =)
Thank You! Turned out that my kids got Friday off too...because of the extreme low temps. So I got to see them a lot last week! Enjoy your little one...they grow up too fast!
DeleteYay for snow days with kids, and a bit of sunshine!
ReplyDeleteHope you have some bright sunshine days ahead!
Thank You! I love days when I don't need to put on the lights during the day! :)
DeleteKatie - I know having Fibromyalgia really messes up my sleep pattern. I moved my laptop to the upper floor to get more sunlight. Picked the sunniest room in the house. Hung sheer curtains that have lovely trees and sunlight dancing though them. That way, on gray days, it's an optical thing.
ReplyDeleteLavender is a color that stimulates cerebral thinking - so I have flowers to that color spread around my "studio," as I call it. Just some things I do to try and get a jump on any depression that comes as an added bonus with Fibro. Hope you don't mind my ideas being shared.
That said, I hope things improve on a faster, better pace than you anticipate. I do enjoy your blogs, and miss it when you're absent. Stay warm (smile).
I certainly don't mind your shared ideas! I'll take as much good advice as I can get! Thanks for all the kind words...Bless you!
DeleteHope you are feeling better soon. As for celebrations, I'm celebrating the fact that my book is going to come out in June - a middle grade mystery involving Sherlock Holmes.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! My daughter just started watching the tv series Sherlock...she says I have to watch it too. I guess the character of Sherlock is a popular one!
DeleteThis sounds like a bunch of good things to me. Sleeping in and enjoying time with the kids? Awesome! Sunny days to improve your mood? Yes, please! I hope you manage to feel good enough to go downstairs and get on the pc. Keeping in touch with people online always makes me feel better, and maybe it'll work for you too! :)
ReplyDeleteBiggest problem is that it's hard to bloghop on my Kindle...I just can't type quick enough and that frustrates me LOL I guess I could have bigger problems :) Enjoy your weekend Lexa!
DeleteMore sleep sounds wonderful! I could use some of that. Hope you pick up out of the depression though.

Thanks Arlee! Weekends are usually better for me...enjoying this one so far! We got almost a foot of snow yesterday...it was so pretty!
DeleteSunny days always make me feel more cheerful! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYesterday it snowed...so technically not a "sunny day"...yet, it was beautiful! I guess I can have a sprinkling of winter wonderland days as well :)
DeleteDepression can be a serious thing. Hope you're getting plenty of sunshine and good lighting when it's missing, and the pain eases up soon. Nice those kiddos are there to keep you smiling and you're getting more sleep :) 'Stay the course" _/)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sharon!
DeleteYay for sleep and sunshine. More of those is always welcome!
ReplyDeletesleep is a glorious thing, even an extra hour.
ReplyDeletesnow! I miss it so much! (but not the shoveling)
And sunny days! Oh yes! I miss them terribly! Grey days always make me blue and it doesn't help when my mood is already depressed. I remember moving to Germany and the first 32 days we were there the weather was just spitting on us. Grey, overcast and misty.

Depression isn't something I can relate to personally, but I do get a bit moody when the sun isn't out. I much prefer to see the sun during the winter months than gray skies. It really lifts my spirit. I absolutely love the long days of summer, but I hate the heat, though. I really dislike the extremes in winter & summer. It's not that I can't be pleased. I love the mild temps that come with spring & fall!! :D Oh well...I'm rambling, aren't I? The reason for my visit is I found this little meme Celebrate Small Things while visiting my blog bud Dixie @dcrelief and I thought I'd check into it. I signed the linky and have the button on my Blog Hop Page, but no celebration. I'll try to incorporate it into my Flashback Friday post next week. The small thing I celebrate this week is I think the snow is on its way out of our area with the promise of mild temperatures to return tomorrow. Hooray! Have a stupendous weekend!
