Celebrate The Small Things -- March 27

It's Friday and I'm Celebrating The Small Things!  The brainchild of ViklitCelebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration where some bloggers have decided to post about something worth celebrating...no matter how big or small it is.  I am thrilled to co-host this wonderful bloghop!

This week I'm celebrating:

  • getting around a little easier.  It's been about a week and a half since I got my walking cast on and I'm mostly getting around with just my cane now.  My casted foot feels pretty good...the other foot is now trying to keep up.  Let's hope it gets with the program soon because I would like to go a year or two without another surgery!
  • I celebrated the 10th anniversary of my 29th birthday this week :P  That's my story and I'm sticking too it!
  • the A to Z challenge is coming up an even though I didn't reveal a theme for this weeks theme reveal, I think I may have one now.  If you are interested in taking part of the biggest blog challenge, click here for more information.  This will be the second year I'm taking part and I'm looking forward to meeting more new people!
  • a not so small celebration...we adopted a sweet pup!  Her name is Emmie and she's about 4.  She is settling in pretty well!  Click here for my short post about her.
  • I had my quarterly shot for my occipital neuralgia this week, and normally the site where the shot was given gets pretty sore for about two days, and I have to put ice on it for the pain.  Well, either my doctor has gotten infinitely better at this procedure, or my Emmie girl is truly working some dog therapy magic.  I didn't even need to use an ice pack once!  I also didn't seem to experience any of the side effects of the steroid used in the shot.  Magic puppy.  Boom.

A to Z Theme Reveal & A Furry Surprise

http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/2015/02/the-great-and-powerful-to-z-theme.html
A to Z Challenge theme reveal?  Yup, don't have one yet.  I have many different thoughts, but it still hasn't all gelled in my head yet.  Seriously, you'd think with me having surgery, and laying on my ass for the past two months, I would have found some time to get a jump on the challenge this year...you know, like I planned to do last year!  Notsomuch.  Oy.  Must start praying for guidance.  If anyone is interested in signing up for the biggest blogfest around, head over here for more information.

While I don't have a theme reveal for you, I do have a different reveal...we've added a new member to our family.  Here she is...

We adopted Emmie from a Maryland based rescue, Lizzy's Lodge Rescue.  She is 4(?) years old and has been very well behaved so far.  We've only had her since Friday, but she is settling in just fine!

My sleepy girls :)

She's even helping me heal :)

Are you participating in the A to Z Challenge this year?  If so, what is your theme?  For all my animal loving friends, what kinds of pets do you have?

It's Friday and I'm Celebrating The Small Things!  The brainchild of ViklitCelebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration where some bloggers have decided to post about something worth celebrating...no matter how big or small it is.  I am thrilled to co-host this wonderful bloghop!

This week I'm celebrating walking!  I got my walking cast on this Tuesday, after the x-rays showed that my fusion is healing the way it should.  I will be partially weight bearing for the next couple of weeks until I feel comfortable to be full weight bearing.  Yay for walking!!  Who cares that I'm slower than my husband's ninety something year old grandmother?!?!

Celebrate The Small Things -- March 13

It's Friday and I'm Celebrating The Small Things!  The brainchild of ViklitCelebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration where some bloggers have decided to post about something worth celebrating...no matter how big or small it is.  I am thrilled to co-host this wonderful bloghop!

This week I'm celebrating being 4 days away from walking!  St. Patrick's Day I will get this cast off, and a temporary look at my wookie leg before they cast it all back up again.  So, another cast for 6 more weeks--which sucks--but I'll be able to start walking on it--which is awesome!  Any suggestions on what color cast I should get?  I should also get to take home some x-rays, which is always exciting for me.

Also celebrating some warmer weather this week.  It's always an adjustment when the weather changes, so this week has been rough on my body.  But I'm definitely done with the winter.  If only it could stay 65 degrees and sunny year round...

Celebrate The Small Things -- March 6

It's Friday and I'm Celebrating The Small Things!  The brainchild of ViklitCelebrate The Small Things is a weekly celebration where some bloggers have decided to post about something worth celebrating...no matter how big or small it is.  I am thrilled to co-host this wonderful bloghop!

This week I'm celebrating:
  • having my kids home again for some more snow days!
  • having my hubby home for a snow day too!
  • getting out to DC to my doctor's to have a window cut into my cast and get my bone stimulator machine.  The whole thing seems a bit weird, but if it helps my bone grow faster then I'm all for it!
